I am a graduate, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communicative and Creative Arts ( Music ), from the State University of New York: College at Old Westbury. Starting my professional career at the age of 15, as a saxophonist, have recorded and toured the United States and abroad with many artists: Too many to mention, but I must mention Aaron Neville because he's still around. For the past 7 years I have been the saxophonist for the legendary Doug Clark and the "Hot Nuts", a Chapel Hill,NC-based band known at colleges nationwide for its risque limericks. In addition to performing as an experienced "traditional" musician, I have taken advantage of modern technology to develop a one man MIDI BAND which gives me the ability to perform various musical styles for varied audiences and events. Over the past few years I have built a library of music for any occasion: Jazz & Blues, Pop & Soul, Beach & Country and Gospel. I will even do a few of the "Hot Nuts" songs if requested. Because of my experience as an army musician, I also have a collection of patriotic and sacred music. Recently retired from the Army Reserves (108th Division Band in Charlotte, NC), I spent the last 2 years giving musical support throughout the Division using Midi music, and often performed as a one man band. I have put a really good package together and now that I bear the title, SSG William R. Payne (AUS Retired), I'm ready to make a name for BILLY PAYNE & HIS MIDI BAND, playing for private parties, corporate events and weddings. My other specialities are: Music Instructor, Music Consultant, and Jingle Producer. I am also an authorized distributor of Nutritional Health Products and an Internet Concultant, and Webmaster.
